DTI GETS ISO CERTIFIED

After years of continuous hard work, we proudly announce that Data Tech International has been successfully certified with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013.

A little introduction

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from several national standard organizations. Founded on February 1947, and with its headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland), the organization develops and publishes worldwide technical, industrial and commercial standards.

ISOs fundamental mission is to procure common specifications, terms, standards, and units of measurement to organizations around the world. It facilitates global trade and innovation in order to allow every organization in every sector to have a common language and common expectations for everything, from technology and manufacturing to food safety, healthcare, and agriculture.

From the range of ISO standards that this independent, non-governmental, international organization offers, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001:2013 are among the top certifications that this body can grant to organizations.

Why are they so important?

ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard dedicated to Quality Management Systems (QMS), it outlines a framework for improving quality and a vocabulary of understanding for any organization looking to provide products and services that consistently meet the requirements and expectations of customers and other relevant interested parties in the most efficient possible manner. The QMS represents the aggregate of all the processes, resources, assets, and cultural values that support the objective of customer satisfaction and organizational efficiency. First published in 1987, the latest iteration (ISO 9001:2015) replaces ISO 9001:2008, more than 1 million companies around the world have been already certified to this new standard.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an organization’s information security policies and procedures. IEC stands for International Electrotechnical Commission, in our case, this entrails and focuses on electronic technologies. 27001 refer to information security management with the goal of keeping information assets secure, this is a widely known standard by professionals in the realm of information technology as it provides requirements for the information security management system for any sort of digital organization. The final number, 2013, refers to the standard version, corresponding to the latest version of ISO 27001.

To ensure that the best practices are followed by the certified organizations, a periodic audit is carried out to make sure that the necessary standards are adopted by the organization as a whole, this fact guarantees that all the required quality and security standards are implemented and respected equally in all its areas.

We strongly believe that our organization must provide, adhere and aspire to the best quality practices that can be found today, which are represented by these two quality and security related standards, to ensure that best quality and security standards are applied both to our customers and to third interested parties alike.

What are the main benefits of these certifications?

This in turn, leads to fewer surprises, improved long and short-term planning, more effective decision-making and it improves the relationships with suppliers, customers and employees.
⦁  Prevents problems from reoccurring – As the ISO requires of us to maintain careful records of problems, seek out their root causes and come up with long lasting solutions it results in less waste, better quality and lower costs.
⦁  Improves employee performance – Employee morale improves when they know they are committed to producing the highest quality and security products and services these certificates represent. As the ISO requires us to define tasks, eliminate skill gaps in our business and communicate those quality and security policies to employees to boost their commitment.
